Ambassadors and other diplomats to and for the United States may not be arrested in a foreign land. Among the reasons for the policy of diplomatic immunity is the desire for officially accredited diplomats to be able to perform their duties with complete independence. Also, diplomats are direct representatives of foreign countries and, as such, remain under the authority of their own governments.
Question: Should countries be able to arrest foreign ambassadors and other diplomats? What problems might arise if this were allowed?

yes, if they do something illegal the shoud be punished. eventually they will hurt someone and get away with it.

no they should only have controll on what goes on in their own country unless war is in effect..if they did otherwise then theyd probably start a war by pissing the other country off

I say that is unfair they could go through the country killing people and not get in trouble. I say do not allow these people to come to america cause they might end up dead on the street.
These so called diplomats are criminals and should locked up and raped on the first night.

No... Diplomats shouldnt be arrested by police of a foreign country. They are still U.S. citizens and should abide by the rules of the United States. If a diplomat did get arrested, cruel and ususual punishment MIGHT be implimented, basically because they arent a citizen of their country.

Yes they should. but some countries would arrest them and keep them as political prisoners

i think that if your are a criminal you shalll be punished for wrong doing no one shall fear anything but GOD! plsu if there was no punish for them then everyone would be doing whatever whenever!

yes because their not under the rules in their country so why do the rules have to bend when their in some other country they should have to follow their rules or stay home

no because we need to just worry about the us, and alot of international eneymies will arrise if this were allowed

Lets say you was from mexico right. You better have something to prove your a legal resident if your trying to cross the us border. Otherwise your going to the slammer as they say a long time ago. Were already at war because violence is getting worser just because you not a legal resident from this country. Ashame.

yes I believe they should be arrested, held and then to the foreign nation but this can stir things up with other countries and knowing most cuntries the accused may get beat or rape because people do crazy unusual things these days inwhich violates the Admendment against cruel and unusual punishment.
