A TEXAS SCHOOL DISTRICT ALLOWED A STUDENT "CHAPLAIN," WHO HAD BEEN ELECTED BY FELLOW STUDENTS, TO LEAD A PRAYER OVER THE PUBLIC ADDRESS SYSTEM BEFORE HOME FOOTBALL GAMES. SEVERAL STUDENTS AND THEIR PARENTS ANONYMOUSLY SUED THE SCHOOL DISTRICT, CLAIMING A VIOLATION OF WHAT'S KNOWN AS THE ESTABLISHMENT CLAUSE OF THE FIRST AMENDMENT, WHICH STATES THAT "CONGRESS SHALL MAKE NO LAW RESPECTING AN ESTABLISHMENT OF RELIGION, OR PROHIBITING THE FREE EXERCISE THEREOF."

i think they ruled against the parents. i agree with school prayer because school is the most tempting place to be and its so bad in schools everybody needs to be praying. praying helps you through your day and helps you do better at everything you do.

I think that it was fine to have the prayer but people might have taken it offencivlly so they probably should have thought about it before hand. But i highly doubt that the supreme court denied the families from this case.
